Becoming Godzilla in Fortnite
The most thrilling feature of this event is the opportunity to transform into Godzilla during battle royale matches. However, this transformation doesn’t happen in every match. A special portal known as the “Godzilla Portal” opens at random during gameplay, giving players the chance to become the fearsome titan.
When the portal is about to open, a Security Alert will appear at the bottom of your screen, and a marker will be placed on your map. The portal itself has a 20% chance of appearing between 3 to 3 minutes and 45 seconds into the match. This means the sooner you spot the portal, the better. The location of the portal is randomized across the map, so you’ll need to stay mobile and use a fast vehicle to track it down.
The first player to jump through the portal will transform into Godzilla. As the titan, you’ll have access to devastating abilities, including:
- Roar: Reveals nearby players
- Mighty Stomp: Launches enemies through the air
- Heat Ray: Cuts through structures and players alike
Although Godzilla is powerful, other players can work together to take it down. Monarch supply drops frequently land in the area, offering powerful weapons like the Rail Gun. You can target Godzilla’s weak spots to deal extra damage, and when it is defeated, the player who caused the most damage will receive the Godzilla Medallion, which grants a recharging dash ability and the exotic Burst Quad Launcher.
Fortnite Godzilla Quests
Along with the chance to become Godzilla, players can complete a series of Godzilla-themed quests during the event. These quests reward players with exclusive cosmetics and in-game items. Here are the available quests:
Nyanja Quests:
- Investigate footprints (1)
- Damage opponents from one story above or higher (120)

- Hit Godzilla using a Quad Launcher or Rail Gun (10)
Godzilla Quests:

- Destroy structures using Godzilla’s Heat Ray (38)
- Roar as Godzilla (1)
These quests offer a great way to earn rewards while enjoying the chaos of the Godzilla event. More quests will be added on January 24, giving players even more opportunities to earn Godzilla-themed items.

Godzilla and Kong in Fortnite: Locations
While you can’t directly battle Kong, his appearance plays an important role in the event. If Kong appears during the Battle Bus phase, it guarantees that the Godzilla portal will open. However, if Kong doesn’t show up, you may still encounter the portal, but it’s not guaranteed.
The Godzilla portal typically spawns during the early stages of the match, around the first storm circle. When the portal opens, players can rush to it to transform into Godzilla. The portal location is marked on the minimap, so make sure to keep an eye on it.
Kong will appear at random during the match and drop supply crates, which contain useful items like railguns to help fight Godzilla. However, Kong himself cannot be transformed into and is only a part of the rift event.
With Godzilla’s powerful abilities and Kong’s support, the battle royale island will never be the same again. Keep your eyes peeled for the portals and get ready to dominate the battlefield!
