After four years of marriage, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have decided to divorce.
According to court records acquired by USA TODAY, the “Game of Thrones” actress, 27, and the Jonas Brothers singer, 34, filed for divorce in Miami-Dade County court on Tuesday.
The reason given in Jonas’ petition for divorce is that “the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken.” He also asks for the execution of their prenuptial agreement from April 2019 as well as “shared parental responsibilities” for himself and Turner with regard to their two girls(Joe Jonas divorce Sophie Turner).
The petition states that the parties’ shared parenting responsibilities is in the children’s best interests. There should be “a parenting plan established. Which addresses all parenting issues and contains a timesharing schedule providing for frequent and continuing contact with both parties.”
Willa, their daughter who is 3 years old, and their second daughter. Whose name has not been released and was born in July 2022, have been residing with Jonas in Miami “and other locations throughout the United States,” the petition said. Turner hails from Northampton, England, initially.
With more than 90 gigs planned across 20 countries, the Jonas Brothers’ current tour is their biggest one to date. Jonas is now on it.
Turner recently travelled to England to film the next British television series “Joan.”
Soon after meeting, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas were “inseparable.”
According to Turner, who told ELLE in 2020 that she would “hit it off” with Jonas on several occasions. The British actress and her future husband were introduced.
Later, when on tour in the UK, Jonas DM’d her, and they met for drinks. “I anticipated him to arrive under full security. I remember thinking, ‘He’s going to be such a (expletive)’,” Turner remembered. He was absent of security. He brought a companion, and they indulged in heavy drinking alongside the rest of us. I recall that the two of us were only on the dance floor for a short while before finding a quiet spot in the corner to just chat. We spoke for many days straight.
