In a disturbing twist, Braian Paiz, a hotel waiter, has been charged with supplying drugs to Payne in exchange for payment. Paiz admitted to using substances, including cocaine, with the singer but denied directly providing him with drugs. Another hotel employee, Ezequiel Pereyra, is also facing drug charges for allegedly delivering cocaine to Payne in a Dove soap box.

Hotel managers, Gilda Martín and Esteban Grassi, are also under investigation, with charges of manslaughter added to the growing list. Grassi, the hotel’s chief receptionist, was the one who placed a 911 call just before Payne’s fatal fall. According to the call, Payne was acting aggressively and had requested alcohol and cocaine. Investigators have also uncovered texts showing Payne attempting to hire an escort for a $5,000 party just days before his death.
Authorities have confirmed that substance abuse played a significant role in Payne’s passing. Reports reveal that Payne had alcohol, cocaine, and traces of antidepressants in his system at the time of his fall. Described as being “semi or totally unconscious,” it is believed that Payne’s impaired state contributed to the fatal accident.
